The 2009 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced May 6.

2009 Liberty League Player of the Year
Lindsay Macaluso   Rochester
Sophomore SS (Amherst, NY)
Macaluso led the Yellowjackets in most offensive categories - hits, runs, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, total bases, average, and slugging percentage. She tied the Rochester single-season home run record with 11, and her .457 batting average is a new school record. A three-time Liberty League Performer of the Week, she leads the league in runs scored, hits, triples, home runs, total bases, and stolen bases.

2009 Liberty League Pitcher of the Year
Beth Ameno   Rochester
Senior (Cheektowaga, New York)
Ameno repeats as Liberty League Pitcher of the Year after posting a career low 1.05 ERA this season. Her 22 victories rank 8th nationally (in games through May 3) while she is 25th in ERA. She recorded a 7-0 record in Liberty League play this season, while allowing only one earned run in 40.1 innings pitched. She was a four-time selection as Liberty League Pitcher of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Year
Sam Crose   Skidmore
Pitcher (Assonet, Massachusetts)
Crose set virtually every Skidmore pitching record as a freshman, and ranks 12th nationally and first in the Liberty League in walks per seven innings (0.73). She has allowed only 20 walks in 191.2 innings and leads the league in shutouts, innings, and appearances. She was a four-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Year
Kim Grimes   Rochester
OF/DP (Oak Park, Illinois)
A three-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Grimes ranked second on the Rochester squad in batting average (.366) and RBIs (26). She tied for the team (and league) lead in triples with three, and was also second on the team with four home runs.

2009 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Michelle Burrell   Rochester
Burrell led the Yellowjackets to their third consecutive Liberty League championship (8-0) as well as third consecutive NCAA berth. The team has been ranked nationally all season long and finished the regular season with a 31-10 overall record. She is assisted by Margaret Yerdon.
